WALKING IN THE POWER OF THE HOLY GHOST

Thursday, May 27th,  2016
“And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.” Mark 16:17-18 (KJV)
Daily Devotional
If there was a time you needed to believe the word of God, it is now. The Kingdom of God is not made of words but of power. This passage of scripture is not just there as a fairy tale. It is true! Don’t just read it, believe it so that you can experience it and see it manifest in your life! The word of God says believers shall speak with new tongues. So speaking in new tongues is part of the new covenant blessing for the believer. Every believer ought to speak in tongues.
The power of the Holy Ghost does not end at speaking in tongues as some believers have come to conclude. Once such people speak in tongues, they are satisfied. No, it is more than that. In Acts 8, you will notice that Philip preached in Samaria and that the people were saved, but they also received the Holy Spirit. However, before Philip had preached in Samaria, there was a sorcerer named Simon who had been in charge of the region. When Philip arrived, Simon was disarmed. This scripture should represent our testimonies as believers.
Evil could be holding sway in a particular place, but when you arrive as a believer, light should drive out the darkness. It is not for the darkness to drive you out. Even before you speak, all contrary spirits should be uncomfortable because you have arrived. That is why you need to walk in power. Unfortunately, what we have seen over time is the believer running away. But that ends today in Jesus name. When Philip arrived in Samaria, Simon the sorcerer was disarmed. Darkness has no power. The power darkness carries lies in the fact that there is no light; the moment there is light, darkness has to flee. That will be your testimony in Jesus name.
