About 100 people have been reported killed as suspected herdsmen invaded Nimbo, Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area of Enugu State on Monday, April 25, 2016.

Some reports however said at least five people were killed in the attack, but according a Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Femi Fani-Kayode, 100 Igbo people were slaughtered by the herdsmen.
Confirming the incident, spokesman for the Enugu Police Command, Mr Ebere Amaraizu, told journalists in Nsukka that police are already at the scene to curtail the situation.
"The police are aware of the attack in Uzo-Uwani and the state commissioner of police is already there to ensure that the situation is brought under control," he said, but did not any figure on casualties recorded.
“The police are also collaborating with sister security agencies like the army, civil defence and the Department of State Services to handle the situation."
